The Arachova or Rachova is built in the southern ridges of Parnassos, at an altitude of 980 metres. Beautiful, stone built houses, picturesque cobblestone paths and fountains are the first things you see when you visit Arachova. Ski center Parnassos is only 25km away from Arachova. You can visit the mountain not only in the winter for skiing but also in the rest of the seasons for mountain biking, hiking and mountaineering. Arachova today, despite its growth, maintains its traditional character, the habit and the customs. A genuine event of its traditional character is also the 3-day feast and the famous “Panygiraki”. This is a religious and national feast dedicated to Saint George. The feast observes ancient Greek customs that testify the deep historical roots of Arachova.
